Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of Inverza, a landscape photography weather app developed by Marcel Strelow. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. Subscription

Inverza is available as an auto-renewable subscription through the Apple App Store.

• Free trial: New subscribers receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. You will not be charged during the trial period.
• Price: After the free trial, the subscription renews automatically at $4.99 per year (or the equivalent in your local currency as displayed in the App Store).
• Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial period if not cancelled beforehand.
• Renewal: Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancellation: You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until that date.
• Free trial cancellation: If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged. You retain access until the trial period ends.

2. What the Subscription Includes

Your subscription provides access to all Inverza features, including the built-in AI weather chat (powered by a cloud-based AI model), the interactive photo spot map with Flickr photo integration, terrain shadow mapping, smart condition alerts, and all future updates during your subscription period.

3. Bring Your Own Key

Inverza allows you to optionally provide your own API keys for third-party AI providers (Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT) and Flickr. When you use your own API keys, your usage of those third-party services is governed by their respective terms of service and pricing. Inverza is not responsible for charges incurred through your own API keys.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Inverza for its intended purpose as a photography planning and weather analysis tool. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app. You may not use the app to abuse or overload the third-party APIs it connects to.

5. Weather Data Disclaimer

Inverza provides weather forecasts, condition predictions, and terrain data for photography planning purposes only. Weather data is sourced from third-party providers (Open-Meteo, NOAA, and others) and AI-generated analysis may not always be accurate. Inverza does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any weather information. Do not rely on Inverza for safety-critical decisions. Always check official weather warnings and exercise caution when planning outdoor activities.

6. Intellectual Property

Inverza, including its design, code, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Marcel Strelow. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License. Photos displayed in the app are sourced from Flickr and Wikimedia Commons under their respective licenses. Elevation data is from NASA SRTM, which is in the public domain.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Inverza and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to missed photography opportunities, inaccurate weather predictions, data loss, or costs incurred through third-party API usage.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is important. Inverza does not require an account, does not track you, and does not collect personal data. For full details on how data is handled, please see our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

Inverza connects to third-party services to provide its features. These services have their own terms of use. By using Inverza, you acknowledge that your use of data from these services is also subject to their terms. Inverza is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these third-party providers.

10. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. For consumers in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence apply.
